One Question:

How can the Ying Quartet program such a good piece (by Tod Machover) and then follow it up with such a huge steaming pile of shit (by Patrick Zimmerli). I wanted to hurt myself during the performance...the piece was that bad...more later.

Glad you liked the Machover...he's a rather interesting composer.

I noticed "Angels in America" in your list...did you know that Peter Eötvös wrote an opera based on the Kuschner play? I have an .mp3 copy of it if you're curious.

I totally disagree. Yeah, the Ying Quartet butchered Zimmerli's piece, but behind the serious execution flaws it was really beautiful.
